About the coach

Who teaches, how the coaching is structured, and why it works that way.

Hi, I'm Ana. I teach surfing to people who are just starting out, and to those already catching waves who want to do it with more confidence.

How the lessons work

I don't rush anyone onto a board on day one. Water comes first: how it moves, where it is safe, what to do when a wave goes over you. Then work on the beach, and only then the first attempts. That order feels slower and is actually faster — most technique problems come from someone never having been given time to understand the water.

What to expect

  • A calm pace and clear explanations without jargon
  • Plenty of repetition: technique is learned by the body, not the head
  • Honest feedback about what is working and what is not
  • An understanding that fear is normal, something to work through rather than be embarrassed by

A little about me

Surfing started for me the way it does for most people — with failed attempts and a lot of swallowed seawater. That is exactly why I remember what a first lesson feels like, and why I build the teaching from there rather than from the perspective of someone who found it easy.
